HE ........ THE FOOD HUNGRILY.

THE SENTENCE, HERE HAS NI USE OF AUXILIARY VERB ,SO IT MUST BE IN EITHER PRESENT INDEFINITE, OR PAST INDEFINITE TENSE .

HERE, PRESENT TENSE CANNOT BE USED , BECAUSE WITH 3rd PERSON SINGULAR NUMBER, '- S ' FORM OF THE VERB IS USED WHICH WOULD NOT BE APPROPRIATE HERE.

SO, PAST INDEFINITE TENSE IS USED HERE ,

i.e,

HE ATE THE FOOD HUNGRILY.
