I was talking to my English teacher and I introduced myself, saying "I'm an only son." because I have no siblings, the teacher corrected me by saying "only child, not only son."
I wonder if that is true, do we not say "only son/daughter"?
If I was a girl and had no siblings, does it mean I could not say "I'm an only daughter", but have to say "I'm an only child." instead?
Would it be weird for an adult to say "I'm an only child."??
