he ratio of inside length, breadth and height of a water tank with lid is 9:8:6 and whole inside area is
8700 sqcm. The tank is half full of water. A cube is immersed in the tank and water is raised upto full

level. Find the length of the side of the cube.

L=9k,B=8k,H=6k

total area= area of four wall+2*area of base

so,

area of four wall=2(L+B)*H=2(9k+8k)6k=204k²

area of base L*B= 9k*8k=72k²

2*base area= 2*72k²=144k²

total area =144k²+204k²=348k²=8700(given)

therefore k= 5

L=45cm

B=40cm

H=30cm

volume of tank =lbh=45*40*30=30000cm³

halfof vol.=15000cm³

let side of cube x

vol. of cube=x³

x³=15000

x=10√³15
