Direct and Indirect speech
- In Direct speech, the words that someone said are repeated in exactly the same manner. Quotation marks are used in direct speech.
- For example: Mark said to me, " I am guilty."
- In Indirect Speech, the words that someone said are not repeated word to word. Words can be changed but the context should be the same. Quotation marks are not used in Indirect speech.
- For example: Mark told me that he was guilty.
