heat energy is absorbed during the transformation of ice in to water and water in to vapours

When ice turns to water then the heat energy produced during this process in absorbed by the heat in the form of latent heat which means "hidden"

So, This is also called as Latent heat of fusion.

During the transformation of ice into water the process of Laten Heat of Fusion acts upon it. During the coversion if water into vapour is called Evaporation.
