Heat is being supplied to a system but the system does not perform any external
work. Is it possible? If yes, how?

Yes, it is possible

First law of thermodynamics states that

Q = W + ΔU

where, Q = Heat given to the system

           W = Work done by system

         ΔU = Change in internal energy of system.

If work done by the system is zero despite given energy to it, then it might be possible that all given heat be converted in form of internal energy of the system.

The best example to illustrate it is Isochoric process. In isochoric process, volume remains the same. And hence, work done is zero. But in this case, all the heat is converted into internal energy.

So, it is pretty possible that Heat is being supplied to a system but the system does not perform any external  work.
