Heat of neutalisation of strong base and strong acid is nearly 57.1 KJ mol ⁻¹ whatever the acid or base it , it comes nearly same. When a strong acid and weak base is used it comes out to be somewhat lower than 57.1 KJ mol ⁻¹in this case it is 34.868 KJ mol ⁻¹, the reason for this lower energy is that some amount of energy is utilized in the complete ionization of weak base that is LiOH.

So , the heat of ionization of LiOH=57.1-34.868

                                                     =22.232  KJ mol ⁻¹

Answer:

answer is 22.232 kJ

Explanation:

the heat of neutralization for strong acid against strong base is always nearly the same , i.e. 57.1 kJ

Therefore heat of ionisation of LiOH =57.1 kJ

Heat of neutralization= 57.1- 34.868

= 22.232 kJ

The heat of ionisation of LiOH will be 22.232 kJ
