Answer:

Trucks carrying a heavy load must spread out that load over the road surface to stay within the safe operating limits of the tyres and to reduce the amount of damage caused to the road surface. However, any tyres that are touching the road create rolling resistance which uses extra fuel, and it wears the tyre out.

However, any tyres that are touching the road create rolling resistance which uses extra fuel, and it wears the tyre out.Heavy trucks have broad tyres because broad tyres have large area of contact and less pressure on the ground.

heavy trucks have 6 - 8 tyres because when the surface area is bigger then the pressure decreases. thus having 6 - 8 tyres in a heavy truck reduces pressure.
