Height of a cylindrical drum is 56 cm. Find the radius of the drum if the capacity of that drum is 70.4 litre.(π = 22/7)

Solution :-

Height of the cylindrical drum = 56 cm

Capacity of the cylindrical drum = 70.4 litres

We know that,

1 litre = 1000 cu cm

So, volume of the cylindrical drum = 70.4*1000 = 70400 cu cm

Volume of cylindrical drum = πr²h

⇒ 70400 = 22/7*r²*56

⇒ r² = (70400*7)/(22*56)

⇒ r² = 492800/1232

⇒ r² = 400

⇒ r = √400

⇒ r = 20 cm

So, radius of the cylindrical drum is 20 cm

solution: A.T.Q.

Height of cylindrical drum h = 56 cm

Capacity of drum = 70.4 ltr

Since volume is to be calculated in cc, so convert 70.4 ltr into it cc ,by multiplying it with 1000

so, 70.4 ltr = 70400 cube centimetre

Radius = ?

Volume of cylindrical drum =  \pi r^{2}h

Apply all the given values into formula

70400 =  \pi r^{2}h

70,400 = 3.14 x   r^{2}  56

  r^{2}  = 70,400/(3.14 x 56)

  r^{2}  =400.3639

r =  \sqrt{400.3639}

r = 20.009 cm

r = 20 cm

so,radius of cylindrical drum is 20 cm.
