Given that there are total 12 bags.

The mean if the apples in each bag - 8

The mean if n observation is given as :-

mean \: of \: observations =  \frac{sum \: of \: observation}{n} \\  =  > 8 =  \frac{total \: no. \: of \: apples}{12}   \\ tota \: no. \: of \: apples \:  = 8 \times 12 \\  =  > 96

So, there are total 96 apples.
