Given,

1 pack of plates = 30 plates

1 pack of straws = 120 straws

She needs same number of plates as straws.

To find,

The minimum numbers of each pack, that she must buy.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Now, first of all we have to calculate the number of total straws (or plates, as they will be equal in numbers) by doing LCM of the given values of : total plates in a pack and total straws in a pack. (We are doing LCM because we need the 'minimum number' of each packs.)

So, by doing LCM we get,

10 | 30,120

______

3 | 3,12

______

1,4

LCM = 10×3×4 = 120

Total number of total plates or total straws = 120

Number of packs of plates = Total number of plates / Plates in one pack = 120/30 = 4

Number of packs of straws = Total number of straws / Straws in one pack 120/120 = 1

Hence, she needs to buy atleast 4 packs of plate and 1 pack of straw.
