Answer:

0.57 is the answer...

area of square(100 sq cm) minus area of unshaded region(43 sq cm)

100- 43 = 57

Probability is 57 by 100 ie 0.57

Thanks!

The probability that the helicopter was crashed in the shaded region is 0.57

Given:

Helicopter was crashed somewhere in the region as shown in figure

To Find:

The probability that the helicopter was crashed in the shaded region is:

Solution:

First Find total area.

Area of square = Side length * Side length

Area of Square = 10 * 10  = 100 cm²

To Find area of Shaded region:

Add area of all 4 semicircles and subtract area of square

Area of 1 Semicircle = (1/2)πd²/4

where d is the diameter = 10 cm

Area of 4 semicircles = (1/2)πd²

Substitute d = 10  and π = 3.14

Area of 4 semicircles = (1/2)(3.14)(10)² = 157 cm²

Area of the Shaded region = 157 - 100  = 57 cm²

The probability that the helicopter was crashed in the shaded region =

Area of shaded region / total area

= 57/100

= 0.57

Hence the probability that the helicopter was crashed in the shaded region is 0.57

Correct option is b) 0.57
