There are three types of neuron.

i) Sensory neuron
ii) Motor neuron
iii) Relay neuron

i) Sensory neuron -- It transmits impulses from receptors (sensory cells) to Central Nervous System (CNS)

ii) Motor neuron -- It transmits impulses from Central Nervous system towards effectors ( muscle cells)

iii) Relay neuron -- It occurs in the Central Nervous System where they serve as links between other neurons
