Answer

⋄ The characteristics of chemical reactions are :-

❪i❫Formation of a precipitate :- some chemical reaction are accompanied by the formation of precipitate.

For example :- In the reaction between Lead Nitrate and Potassium chloride solution ,a yellow precipitate of lead iodide appear.

❪ii❫ Evaluation of the Gas :- some chemical reaction are component by evolution of gas .

For example :- In the reaction between zinc and dilute sulphuric acid or hydrochloric acid hydrogen gas is evolved.

❪iii❫ Change in colour:- some chemical reactions are accompanied by change in colour.

For example :- Rust is brown in colour whereas iron is greyish black in colour.

❪iv❫ Change in state:-some chemical reaction are accompanied by change in state.

For example :- solid wax (in the form of candle) burn to form water vapour and carbon dioxide which are gaseous.

❪v❫ Change in temperature :- some chemical reaction are accompanied by change in temperature i.e.,rise or fall of temperature.

For example :- when zinc react with sulphuric acid in a beaker or a flask it is found to be warm. This can be seen by touching the beaker or the flask.
