THE MAIN CAUSE OF FRENCH REVOLUTION

⇒Economic = The deregulation of the grain market, advocated by liberal economists, resulted in an increase in bread prices. In periods of bad harvests it would lead to food scarcity which would prompt the masses to revolt.

⇒Political = Louis XVI faced strong opposition from provincial parlements which were the spearheads of the privileged classes' resistance to royal reforms.

⇒Financial = France's debt, aggravated by French involvement in the American Revolution, led Louis XVI to implement new taxations and to reduce privileges.

⇒Social= The emergence of an influential bourgeoisie which was formally part of the Third Estate (commoners) but had evolved into a caste with its own agenda and aspired to political equality with the clergy (First Estate) and the aristocracy (Second Estate).

⇒Cultural = The Enlightenment philosophy desacralized the authority of the monarchy and the Catholic Church, and promoted a new society based on reason instead of traditions.

⏫The French revolution began in 1789 and ended in about 1799. It was the major and the first step initializing all other struggles.

➡It opened up a rational approach towards freedom .

---------------------------------------------------☺☺

✔Causes of French revolution :-

➡Division of Society :- The French society was divided into three estates . These are ;

❇The Clergy

❇The nobility

❇The commoners .
..
✔ In this division , The SOCIAL DISPARITIES prevailing were the main spark to the French revolution . All the Burden of paying taxes was on third estate . The first two estates were exempted from paying the taxes .

➡The Increasing Taxes :- The king Louis XVI decided to increase the taxes further to fill the empty treasuries . This further angered the citizens who were already burdened a lot .

➡Economic Hardships :- due to the increasing prices and taxes , the people faced a lot of economic hardships . They felt it difficult to run a smooth life . The subsistence Crisis further added to their problems .

✴Hence the sum of these factors lead to the outburst of French revolution ..
