Agricultural practices : Agricultural practices are the tasks performed by the farmers in order to cultivate a crop. Agricultural practices include preperation of soil (ploughing and levelling) , sowing, adding manures and fertilizers, irrigation , crop protection, harvesting, threshing ,winnowing and storage.

Animal husbandry : Rearing of animals on large scale for work and food is defined as animal husbandry. It is also called 'livestock farming'.

Crop : A crop is the same kind of plants that are grown and cultivated in the same field on a large scale.

Fertilizer : Fertilizers are chemically prepared compounds that contain nutrients like nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus which are essential for plant growth.

Granaries : Graineries are place used to store grains on a large scale.

Harvesting : Harvesting is the process of cutting and collecting the mature crop from the field. It is done by harvestor or combine.

Irrigation : Irrigation is the process of providing sufficient water to the crops.

Kharif : Kharif crops are the crops grown in rainy season, sown in the first rain of July and harvested in October. They are also called monsoon crops. Examples : rice, maize etc.

Manure : Manure is the organic substance obtained from the decomposition of plant and animals wastes by the action of microorganisms on them.

Plough : Plough is an agricultural implement used in ploughing or tilling.

Rabi : Rabi crops are the crops grown in winter season, sown in October and harvested in April. They are also called winter crops. Examples : wheat, peas etc.

Seeds : Seeds are the units from which any plant grows.

Silo : Silos are like towers or place used to store grains on a large scale.

Sowing : Sowing is the process of putting the seeds in soil. It is done by seed drill or can be done manually.

Storage : Storage means the process to store something.

Threshing : Threshing is the process of seperating grains from the stalks. It is done by combine.

Weeds : Weeds are the unwanted crops that grown along with the main crops. Examples : Amaranthus, Chenopodium etc.

Weedicide : Weedicides are the chemicals sprayed on weeds in order to kill them.

Winnowing : Winnowing is the process of removing the chaff from the grains. It is usually done manually.
