Hello! Could someone tell me whether vibratory and oscillatory motion are the same? If they are not, please explain the difference also.

No. In Oscillatory motion the object moves as a single unit but in vibratory some parts show small movements. Oscillator motion very fast is called vibratory

ambicagovind2: thanks. good explanation.

Anonymous: its correct but you need to explain it in detail to verify it accordingly......anyway it is good answer

Vibration is the periodic motion and the restoring force is the Force due to elastic property of body. Rigid body can not vibrate. Anything has mass and elasticity can vibrate.
Ex: Take long scale. fix at one end and pull the free end and leave. it vibrate.
Oscillation is also Periodic motion and restoring force is due to weight of the body. even rigid body can oscillate.
Ex: Simple pendulum is ocillate. or Anything tie at the end of the thread and hang it. It oscillate.
