Atomic number of sulphur is 16,therfore it's electron distribution will be as under:
K=2electron
L=8electron
M=6electron
Therefore to complete it's octet sulphur needs(8-6)=2electron. Hence valency of sulphur is 2.
Atomic mass of magnesium is 12.
Valancy of magnesium is 2.
