Answer: Width = 640/x

Dimensions: 32 cm , 20 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Area = 640 m^2 ; Length = x m ; perimeter = 104 m

To find: Width in terms of x ; dimensions (length,width)

SOLN:

Area of rectangle = Length * Width

Width = Area/Length = 640/x

Perimeter= 104

2[L+W] = 104

L+W = 104/2 = 52

Given L = x and we have got W = 640/x

Substituting

x + 640/x = 52

x^2 + 640 = 52 x

x^2 - 52 x + 640 = 0

sum = -52 && product = 640... Numbers = -32,-20

x^2 - 32 x - 20 x + 640 = 0

x[x - 32] - 20[x-32] = 0

[x-20][x-32]

x = 20 or x=32

According to this question,  Dimensions are 32 cm , 20 cm
