Question- Difference between Net Sown Area and Gross Sown Area ?

Answer - The Gross Sown Area is the total Area sown once as well as more than once in a particular area !
Punjab ,Harayana have high gross Sown Area while Rajashtan has low Gross Sown area !!

Whereas

Net Sown area is the area sown with crops but it is counted only once !

The distribution of net sown area is not uniform .In northen plain it is very high, In punjab it is 84%.

Knowing GDP and NSA helps in calculating crop intensity !!

Hope it helps you !!
