Amarkantak is origin of many rivers, primarily of Narmada and Sone. RiverSone originates at a place called Sonmuda which is about one kilometer from the origin of Narmada. Sone and Bhadra are two streams originating almost at the same place and these two merge to make river Sonbhadra.
