Given Equation is p^2 + p - 56.

=> p2 - 7p + 8p - 56

=> p(p - 7) + 8(p - 7)

=> (p - 7)(p + 8).

Its zeroes are:

p = 7, -8.

Hope this helps!

Answer:

 {p}^{2} + p - 56

p {}^{2}  + 8p \:  - 7p \:  - 56  = 0\\  \\ p(p + 8) - 7(p + 8)  = 0\\  \\ (p - 7)(p + 8) = 0 \\  \\ p \:  = 7 \: and  \:  \: - 8
