Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cell. They are organelles that act like a digestive system which takes in nutrients, breaks them down, and creates energy rich molecules for the cell. The biochemical processes of the cell are known as cellular respiration.

Answer

Mitochondria

•mitochondria are rod-shaped organelles that can be considered as power generator the cell,

•it converts Oxygen and nutrients into ATP (adenosine triphosphate).

where ATP is the chemical energy currency of the sales and it supplies the required energy for the metabolic activities in the cells. this is also known as a aerobatic respiration. and basically in this region animal breathe oxygen.

•mitochondria enable else to produce 15 times more ATP than they could otherwise.

moreover complex animals like humans needs more energy than the others animals to survive

•the number of mitochondria in a cell depend upon the metabolic requirements of that cell.

mitochondria are found in all eukaryotic including plants , animal, fungis and protits.

•mitochondria are large enough to be observed with a light microscope.

Hope this helps you.....
