A reflex arc starts from the sensory neuron which is affected by the stimulus, and ends with the last neuron that synapses with the affector; including all the neurons in between.

Tendon tap: The reflex arc consists of the spindle afferent and motoneuron as efferent—just a two neuron arc.

Flexor reflex: It consists of the nociceptor, plus 1–3 interneurons, the last interneuron excites flexor motoneurons. Reflex arc consists of the nociceptor, plus a sequence of 2–3 interneurons, followed by flexor motoneurons.

shawn505: The withdrawal reflex (nociceptive flexion reflex or flexor withdrawal reflex) is a spinal reflex intended to protect the body from damaging stimuli.[1] Spinal reflexes are often monosynaptic and are mediated by a simple reflex arc. A withdrawal reflex is mediated by a polysynaptic reflex resulting in the stimulation of many motor neurons in order to give a quick response.[2]

Explanation:

For dogs,(according to Pavlov's law)

  • A. Before training, normal saliva secrection in presence of food

  • At the end point of the training saliva secrection after hearing sound of the bell with out food.
