As minor sector covers 1 quadrant

So arc subtends 90 degree at centre

So Major arc subtends ( 360-90) = 270 degree at centre

Area of 360 degree complete arc circle = pie r^2

diameter = 70

radius = 35

pie r^2 = 22/7 × 35 × 35

= 22× 5 × 35 = 110 × 35= 3850

Now Divide area by 360 to get area subtended by arc subtending 1 degree

3850/360

Now Major arc subtend 270 degree

So 3850× 270/360

= 385× 270/36

= 385× 15/2

= 2887.5 cm^2

OR

AS we know minor arc subtends one quadrant

As we know 360/90 = 4

So rest 3/4 area would be occupied by major sector

So its simply 3/4 × area

3/4 × 3850

3× 962.5

2887.5 cm^2
