According to a theorem ;

The ratio of area of a two similar triangles is equal to square of their corresponding sides.

Since triangle PQR similar to triangle ABC.

Hence area of PQR/ area of ABC = (QR/BC) ^2

= (3/1)^2

= 9/1

CHECKS OVER STIPES

 In triangle ABD & PQM

angle A = angle P

1/2 angle A = 1/2 angle P

angleBAD =angle QPM

angle B = angle Q

so triangle ABD sim.. to triangle PQM

so AB/PQ = AD/ PM (C.S OF SIMILAR TRIANGLE)
