Hey friend,

_____________________________________________________________

Let us understand this with the help of example.

Let one mol of A and one mol of B completely react with each other to form 2 moles of AB.

Now, if we add 4 moles of A to 3 moles of B.

Then, 3 moles of A will completely react with 3 moles of B.

And 1 mol of A is left but B is all used up.

Hence B is preventing the reaction from being complete . Or we can say that B is limiting the reaction.

So, we say that B is limiting reagent.

Hope this helped you !!
