They are more confused than confident.
The major reason for their confusion is that they have too many options as compared to their previous generation.
In our times, almost all good students used to go for Engineering or Medical, and most of them would prefer government jobs.
Nowadays they have many options like
Engineering
Medical
Law
Management
Economics
Commerce
Journalism
More options confuse the youths as by choosing one, they close other options.
Even after they pass out of their graduation, they have many options to choose like MBA, Law, CA, Civil Services, going abroad for higher degree/employment. They have multiple options to choose in corporates as well.
In personal life also, youths are confused.
In the earlier times, almost all the marriages would be arranged by parents and the children have hardly any role to play. At the most, the boy would be able to see the girl before their parents and ask a few questions to the girls for which the girls would give the tutored reply.
Nowadays, the boys and girls have almost infinite options to choose and they get confused.
When you get a number of options, you get confused and also your confidence level goes down.
It is because everyone has so many options.
You are not confident, whether the girl/boy you like will choose you
You are not confident, whether your dream company will choose you
You are not confident, whether you would get the education in your chosen college
The lack of confidence is visible on the faces of most youths, even after they get educated, get the job and get married. It is because in the modern time, no relationship is permanent.
You can be sacked from your job
Your spouse may leave you
Your knowledge may get obsolete soon
The new generation is living in more exciting times.
Their life is more of a roller coaster ride.
They have much more opportunities, but much more chances of failures as well.
That is making them confused and lose confidence on themselves and the world.
