Cell Organelles

They are living substance in a cell that perform various roles to maintain existence of life on earth.

______________________________

Almost all cell Organelles in Plant and Animal cell are same excluding some.

______________________________

The ones which are similar in both cells are mentioned below with their functions :-

Nucleus and Nucleolus

  1. Contains genetic codings substances and chromosomes.
  2. Controls the growth of cell and other working if organelles.

Mitochondria

Mitochondria in both the cells play an important role for generating chemical reactions in production of ATP molecules.

[Note : ATP molecules are packages containing energy]

Golgi Apparatus

  1. In both the cells, this organelle helps in packaging and discharge of substances from one part to other.
  2. It breaks complex substance into simpler ones.
  3. Plays vital role in formation of Lysosomes.

Endoplasmic Reticulum

  1. Transportation of substances
  2. Process of Membrane Biogenesis
  3. Produces acids for Lysosomes.
  4. Digestion of protein, fats and lipids

[Note : Protein by RER and Fat & Lipids by SER]

Lysosomes

  1. Digest the foreign substances like bacteria and food.
  2. Digest the whole cell when cell fails to recover.

Ribosomes helps in protein synthesis.

______________________________

Organelles that differ, mainly plant have special extra organelles for extra work.

Cell Wall

  1. Dead organelle made up of cellulose to prevent desiccation of cell and entrance of germs
  2. To allow cell to widthstand in high concentration of water.

Plastids

Chromoplast — Gives colour to flowers, fruit and contains pigments like xenophyll.

Chloroplast — Necessary for photosynthesis and contains main green pigment “Chlorophyll”

Leucoplast — Stores oil granules and organic acids in them.
