A path is 5 m wide runs inside of a square park of side 100 m find the area of the path. also find cost of cementing the path if the cost of cementing the path is rupees 250 p/m²

Now side of the bigger square = 105 m

Area of the bigger square = 105² = 11025m²

Area of the square park = 100² = 10000m²

Area of the path = 11025-10000= 1025m²

Cost of cementing the path = 250×1025= 256250 paise = Rs2562.5

there's a formulae you can apply here that is

4x(s-x) where x means width of track; s means side. so

4*5(100-5)=95*20=1900 it's the area of path

1900*250=475000rupees.
