Communal politics is based on the idea that religion is the principal basis of social community.

Communalism involves thinking ;

  • followers of a particular religion must belong to one community
  • they think any difference they may have is irrelevant
  • people following different religions can't belong to same social community
  • if followers of different religions have some commonality these are superficial and irrelevant
  • in its extreme form it leads to a belief that people belonging to different religions can't live as equal citizens within one nation ........PS;think of all the qualities of our current central govt. they could give you a clear idea what a communal govt will be like
