▶Given : The Attachment involves a rectangle with dimensions of 10 and 20. ↙

➡ Note : In this Picture, There are two circles of equal size that are tangent to each other and the rectangle.↪

▶Method of Solution : ▶

↪ Area of Right Angled Triangle = 1/2 × Base × Height

↪ Area of Right Angled Triangle = 1/2 × 10 × 20

↪ Area of Right Angled Triangle = 5×20

↪↪ Area of Right Angled Triangle = 100

Now, According to the Question statement!

Statement :

Important Note : The circle has a radius that is half the rectangles height of (10) , Therefore its radius is (5).

↪ Area of Circle = πr²

↪ Area of Circle = 22/7 × (5)²

↪ Area of Circle = 22/7 × 25

↪ Area of Circle = 550/7 cm²

↪ Area of Circle =78.57 cm² ( Approximately 78.5)

•°• Area of Shaded Portion = Area of Right angled Triangle - Area of Circle

AREA OF SHADED PORTION = 100 - 75.5

Area of Shaded Portion = 21.5 cm²

Hence, Required Area of Shaded Portion is 21.5 cm²

Answer:

5.36  square units approximately

Step-by-step explanation:

I am assuming that the circles have equal radius .

Now note that :

The radius of the circle = ( 1/2 ) × diameter .

Diameter = 1/2 × length of the rectangle .

                = 1/2 × 20 cm

                = 10 cm

So radius of circle = ( 1/2 ) × 10

                              = 5

Area of the rectangle = 20 × 10

                                    = 200

Now area of shaded portion has to be found .

Area of shaded portion can calculated by subtracting the rest portion of the rectangle .

Area of 2 circles = 2 × πr²

                           = 2 × 22/7 × ( 5 )²

                          = 44/7 × 25

                          = 157.14

Now let area of any one corner of the shaded portion = x .

Assuming the figure to be symmetrical :

So all the circles at the corners has an area = 2 x .

Four corners = 8 x .

There are 2 circles ... so the areas = 16 x .

This means that :

16 x = area of rectangle - area of 2 circles

= > 16 x = 200 - 157.14

= > 16 x = 42.86

= > x = 42.86 / 16

= > x = 2.678

We have to find 2 x because the area of shade is 2 x .

= > Area = 2 x

= > 2 × 2.678

= > 5.356 unit²

= > 5.36 unit² approximately .

The area of shaded portion = 5.36 unit²

Anonymous: this means that the calculation is wrong ^^" i will see to it
vikram991: this X = other angle sir
Anonymous: thanks again .. this means area = 2.678 is it ?
