Solution

Let

∆PSR is Isosceles triangle because:-

PS = SR ( Given )

∠1 = ∠P .....1 ( Angle of opp. sides are equal )

Now take

∆SQR is Isosceles triangle because

SQ = SR ( Given )

∠2 = ∠Q ....2 ( Angle of opp. sides are equal )

Now

∆PQR

Using angle sum property of trigonometry we get

∠P + ∠Q + ∠R = 180⁰

From 1 and 2 we get

∠1 + ∠2 + ∠R = 180⁰ ∠R is ∠1 + ∠2 ( Given )

Now we get

∠1 + ∠2 + ∠1 + ∠2 = 180

2( ∠1 + ∠2 ) = 180

∠1 + ∠2 = 90⁰ ∠1 + ∠2 = ∠R

Now

∠R = 90⁰

Now Using pythagoras theorem

(Hypotenuse)² = ( Base )² + ( Perpendicular)²

Now we get

PQ² = QR² + PQ²

Hence proved
