Hello I was given an essay about the quote The activist is not the man who says the river is dirty. The activist is the man who cleans up the river.

But  I didn't speak about the environment I wrote about theories and practises of teaching is it correct to do so ,?

the author tells the river is dirty and the author tells  the river is clean

Well,  it's correct but if you wish you can also write about cleaning environment because the quote is based on we should clean the river not only point out that the river is dirty. But there is nothing wrong writing about theories and practises of this teaching.
