There was once a beggar somewhere in india who went from door to door, pleading for a few coins which to buy food. One day he saw in the distance a gorgeous chariot. It was unlike any other chariots. It seemed to shine with a holy light. "it must be the king's chariot," thought the beggar. "he will give me a large beautiful gift. How fortunate i am. "No longer shall i have to beg"and he hurried forward. When he came to the chariot the door opened. A hand was held out,palm up. It had no gift ; the hand was empty. Then the beggar was startled for a voice said :"what have you to give me?" the beggar was dismayed ; he was astonished that so great a personage could expect anything for him. Then the beggar reached inti his bag, examined his kernals of corn and picking one, the smallest, he handed it to the person who was only visible. Then the carriage was gone! . The beggar return to his hut, and when he opened his purse,he found a tiny gold nugget, about the size of kernal he had given to the person in the chariot. so he had been rewarded as he had given.
