Meteoroids are still up in the sky. But meteorites are the opposite and are on Earth. Finally, meteors are falling to Earth and flash light when they break down in the atmosphere.

So starting as a meteoroid in the sky, then falling as a meteor. Next, when it lands on Earth, we call it a meteorite.
