a car covers 200km in 4 1/2 hours and then another 240kmNkn 3 1/2 hr. find its average speed.

Average Speed = Total Distance / Total Time

GIVEN:

d1 = 200km

d2 = 240km

t1 = 9/2 hrs

t2 = 7/2 hrs

Speed = ?

SO, Average Speed = ( d1 + d2 ) / ( t1 + t2 )

A.S = (200+240) / (16/2)

A.S = 440 / 8

Therefore, Average Speed = 55 kmph
