Answer:

A beggar moves from street to street, village to village and locality to locality. He begs for alms, money, food, etc. Sometimes, he asks for clothes. He accepts happily whatever he is offered. Some beggars insist for more money and cause irritation to people. He even goes on to pursue the man to fulfill his demands.

A beggar is a poor man. He is dressed in torn clothes. He is untidy and un bathed. Some beggars have bandages on their limbs. A beggar carries a bag with him. He keeps his alms in it. Some beggars have bowls in their hands. Many beggars move with the help of a stick. Some beggars are disabled and they are carried in a cart by another beggar. Beggars generally call the name of God. The beggars are well-versed in the art of singing religious songs. They sing in such a pathetic voice that it evokes pity for them. They instantly draw the attention of the people. Such beggars are commonly seen in buses, trains and at railway station.

People generally give alms to the beggars to ward off their distress. They do not give alms to them out of pity but to ward off their troubles. Generally, women have sympathetic attitude for them. In fact, most of the beggars thrive due to the generosity of the women. These beggars never miss religious gatherings and festivals. Begging is justified in case of crippled, incapacitated and handicapped beggars. But often some healthy men begin to beg who do not deserve charity at all. Such beggars should not be given any alms.

Sometimes anti-social elements disguise themselves as beggars and go out for begging. They have hair and have pot and stick in their hands. Some of them besmear themselves with ashes to cheat people. Such beggars generally go out for begging when male members of the house are at their work and only ladies are at home. In the name of begging they cheat women, often they intrude their houses and rob them.

Begging is a social evil. It needs to be banned. It is a cause of concern for our society. A legislation should be enacted to check begging. People should be made aware not to give charity to those who are able-bodied. However, those who deserve to be helped should be properly assisted. They should be provided some sort of employment to become self-reliant

Many people resides in our neighborhood. And one of those is the beggar . Who is commonly called as Kishan by the other people. According to this physical looks one can guess him as of 35 or more in age . He lives in a small cottage type house which was made by his forefathers many years ago so that's why his house's condition is not so good. Like other beggars we see any where he begs too for his living.

As like other beggars he is also a poor person of a weak and low powered adult. He is just included in the category of adults because of his age but he has nothing like a adult person . No swiftness not even a little bit energetic. I have always seen him either begging or blaming god in a sad look for his poor economic conditions. I have never seen him happy. His face can be seen full of scares of some unknown fear and naturally full of wrinkles also . It is not right saying him dwarf but his height is nearly less than average height of any man .

Usually when I goes for my morning walk nearly on 5 am during the summers he goes to the temple which is a mile far from my house . There he just do begging asking people for food or some coins . Then in evening he returns home with his bowl and his worn out bag . These all things are included in his daily routine according to my observation.

The thinking of the other people of the neighbor is similar every one says that he is just gonna habitual of all these things and don't want to do any hard work and happy in his begging and all. No one from there own offers him job like to other beggarswhen they asks them any kind of commodities. Because everyone is well aware of his health status. He don't know how to speak Hindi and English but the way of this talking is very humble . He never uses any kind of abusing words . He is a poor person by economic conditions but not poor in context to his manners. He sends his two children to the nearby government school as he is well aware of the importance of studies. He earning is not much but due to the policies of govt like BPL card , public distribution shops etc he and his family is spending there time with happiness and some pains also.

This is the story of my neighbor who's a beggar .
