a) I'm not sure about it. But I'll try and then I'll send it to you by later.
b) The diagonals of trapezium are of equal length. So,
(2x+4)+(x+1) = 4+(4x-8)
2x(x+1)+4(x+1) = 16x-8
4x+2x+4x+4 = 16x-8
10x+4 = 16x-8
16x-10x= 8+4
6x = 12
x=12 / 6
x= 2
