Aryans both are known as Pre-Vedic and Vedic periods. The Indian subcontinent throughout history had a number of names such as Bharat, Aryavarta, Riva, Hindustan and India. ... However, the British officials found it difficult to pronounce Hindustan thus they gave name India to the Indian Subcontinent.
