Given: x = 5 - 2 \sqrt{6}

To Find: \sqrt{x}

Solution:

  \sqrt{x}  = \sqrt{5 - 2 \sqrt{6} }  \\  \sqrt{x}  =  \sqrt{3 + 2 - 2 \sqrt{6} }  \\  \sqrt{x}  =  \sqrt{ { \sqrt{3} }^{2} +  { \sqrt{2} }^{2}  - 2( \sqrt{3} )( \sqrt{2} ) }  \\

Using

(x  - y) ^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  - 2xy

 \sqrt{x}  =  \sqrt{( \sqrt{3}  -  \sqrt{2}) ^{2}  }  \\  \sqrt{x}  =  \sqrt{3}  -  \sqrt{2}

Hope it Helps. ^_^
