Answer:

Potatoes bought = 5⅙ kg

Tomatoes bought = 3⁵/12 kg

Carrots bought = 1⁵/9 kg

Total quantity purchased = 5⅙ + 3 ⁵/12 + 1 ⁵/9

= ³¹/6 + ⁴¹/12 + ¹⁴/9

LCM of 6,12 & 9 = 3×2×2×3 = 36

³¹/6 = ¹⁸⁶/36

⁴¹/12 = ¹²³/36

¹⁴/9 = ⁵⁶/36

¹⁸⁶/36 + ¹²³/36 + ⁵⁶/36

= ³⁶⁵/36

= 10 ⁵/36
