There's a theorem that you may know

DN * MD = SD * RD

It is same like the secant tangent theorem

so,

1.  DN * 8 = 15 * 4

DN = 7.5

2.  8 * 9 = RD * SD

RD * SD = 72

RD + SD = RS = 18

Put RD = 72/DS in above equation

(72/DS) + DS = 18

(DS)² - 18 DS + 72 = 0

Solve the quad to get DS =  6 or 12

So finally DS will be taken as 6 and RD will be 12 as from figure DS is smaller than RD
