Bassanio is a loyal friend of Antonio's and even though he was just married to Portia, he proves his loyalty by leaving Portia to save his close friend Antonio.
He is Spend thrift as he lived an extravagant life even though he was in debt.
He was cautious as he warned Antonio of Shylocks offer of the bond to take one pound of flesh from wherever Shylock pleases.
