Solution :
Both figures are Trepeziums.
/* Area of a trapezium (A)
= (1/2) [ (sum of parallel sides )× height ] */
i ) Area of first trapezium (A1)
= (1/2){ [ (x+4)+(2x-6)]×6 ]
= (3x-2)3
= 9x -6 ----(1)
ii ) Area of the second trapezium (A2) = (1/2)[(x+x+2)4]
= (2x+2)2
= 4x+4 -----(2)
According to the problem given,
(1) = (2)
=> 9x-6 = 4x+4
=> 9x-4x = 4+6
=> 5x = 10
=> x = 10/5
=> x = 2
Therefore,
x = 2
