1)India is called secular because its citizens have complete freedom to follow and practice any religion of their own choice.
2)Democracy means that India has a government where people enjoy equal political rights.
3)Head of state is elected (i.e, President) and not hereditory.

we can say that India is a secular democratic republic as the people of India are free to elect the one they want people are independent they do not have to work under pressure
