The answer to this question lies in evolution.
We all have studied about it, kingdoms, phylums, class, order, family, genus and species.
Making it simple,
Come to kingdom animalia.
It has various phylums, starting from phylum porifera till phylum vertebrata
Yes, we're vertebrates.
Phylum vertebrata has further been divided into 5 classes-
Class Pisces
Class Amphibia
Class Reptilia
Class Aves
Class Mammalia
Now, what happened, the water animals, i.e.,class pisces,some species, somehow moved to land and then developed according to land and then class amphibia originated, frog is the best example of it, it lives in both water and land.
Then, class amphibia developed to class reptilia too, example of this is crocodile.. He is a reptile and an amphibian too..
Then, somehow some of the organisms developed wings and started flying, then class aves came into origin. The best example is flying lizard, a reptile too and aves too...

What I was trying to say?
That the egg of hen was laid by some other species from class aves and then due to evolution hen came to origin.
