Answer:

2.91

Step-by-step explanation:

LOSS = CP - SP

15 = CP - 500

CP = 515

NOW YOU GOT CP N YOU HAVE LOSS PRICE CALCULATE LOSS PERCENT FROM FORMULA

LOSS/CP × 100

15/515 × 100

WHICH IS 2.91

GIVEN:

  • Loss = Rs. 15
  • Selling price (S.P.) = Rs. 500

TO FIND:

  • What is the loss % ?

SOLUTION:

Firstly, we have to find the Cost price (C.P) of the saree

To find the C.P of the saree, we use the formula:-

\bf{\star \: Loss = C.P - S.P \: \star}

According to question:-

\rm{\dashrightarrow 15 = C.P - 500 }

\rm{\dashrightarrow 15+500 = C.P }

\bf{\dashrightarrow \star \: Rs. \: 515 = C.P\: \star}

C.P of the saree is Rs. 515

To find the loss % of saree, we use the formula:-

\bf{\star \: Loss \% = \bigg(\dfrac{Loss \times 100}{C.P}\bigg)\: \star}

According to question:-

\rm{\dashrightarrow Loss \% = \bigg(\dfrac{15 \times 100}{515}\bigg) }

\rm{\dashrightarrow Loss \% = \bigg(\dfrac{1500}{515}\bigg) }

\rm{\dashrightarrow Loss \% = \bigg(\cancel\dfrac{1500}{515}\bigg) }

\bf{\dashrightarrow \star \: Loss \% = 2.91 \% \: \star}

Hence, the Loss % of saree is 2.91 %
