Hepatic encephalopathy Hallucinations are visual.

Hallucinations are experiences where a person perceives the presence of something when actually there is nothing present there. There are many types of hallucinations that include not just visual perceptions, but also include smell, auditory, sexual, etc.

Hallucinations that are caused by Hepatic encephalopathy are sometimes called as Hepatic hallucinations. In this case, the liver does not function properly and there are many toxins that spread in the body and bloodstream. These toxins confuse the body and cause hallucinations, fatigue etc. It causes deterioration of mental health, changes in personality, coma, and death.

A Haptic hallucination is the perception of a sense of touch when actually there is no external stimulus. It is also called as tactile hallucination where a person hallucinates about being touched.
