Herbs and shrubs are usually small in size, compared to trees and have several stems growing just above the ground. They are shorter in height compared to trees and are characterised by several smaller branches that spread out. Hence, they can withstand high winds without their main stems snapping off.

Basil, Cilantro, Parsley are examples of herbs. Lavender, Camellia, Daphne are examples of shrubs.
